Edmonton’s Finest

Mark Milner is one of the original Edmonton volunteers for HEROS. He received Volunteer of the Year award from Boys & Girls Club of Edmonton. He is constantly driving and organizing for HEROS weekly sessions, ensuring that everything is running smoothly for all of our participants. Mark also commits outside of HEROS to transport Juma, an Edmonton HEROS participant who also plays Bantam AA hockey to and from his minor hockey games and practices. Mark is an outstanding role model who exemplifies the calibre of volunteers we have across the country. Also recognized by the Boys & Girls Club of Edmonton was Sayde, who started with us as a Future Star and has over come tremendous difficulty at home. Sayde had enough courage and foresight to remove herself from her home environment and move in with her sister. Sayde is an exemplary member of Edmonton’s All Stars and leads the way by example. Sayde was awarded Mentee of the year from the Boys and Girls Club of Edmonton this afternoon.
