HEROS is proud to announce the addition of two new SuperHEROS chapters!
Winnipeg and Saskatoon will see SuperHEROS players hit the ice for the first time in the coming months and we couldn’t be more excited to share the news. With these two new chapters, SuperHEROS now has programs in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg.
SuperHEROS provides youth living with physical and cognitive challenges the opportunity to play hockey in the same safe, welcoming and inclusive environment that their HEROS teammates experience across the country. Since launching in 2018, the program has made tremendous progress in ensuring hockey is more accessible than ever and that players of all abilities have opportunities to play, learn and grow through the sport.
This expansion is an important step towards our goal of having a SuperHEROS program in every HEROS city – and it wouldn’t be possible without the hard work and dedication from our volunteers and community members who show up week after week, selflessly giving their time and expertise.
It’s also a testament to the entire HEROS community, which is full of everyday people like yourself, supporting youth who need it the most by making donations, volunteering, spreading the word about our programming or any of the countless other ways we see you show your support. For that, we say thank you for being a hero for our HEROS.
And to our newest SuperHEROS, we say welcome! We’re so happy to have you as part of the HEROS family and can’t wait to see you on the ice.
Of course, there’s always room on the HEROS team for those who want to make a lasting impact on the young people in their community. Visit our volunteer page and reach out to HEROS.volunteer@gmail.com for more information.
